Bubble Math Pond: pop the right answer and the bubble blooms

15 seconds a question — work it out, then pop. A miss costs nothing, and the pond only tells you which way to look.
Question 1 / 12 · Mixed · Normal15 seconds a question, 12 a round; streaks add up

  1. How long each question took and which bubble you popped lands here.

How to play

The white sign at the bottom of the pond holds the question, for example 3 × 7 = ?. Six to eight bubbles drift up through the water, each with a number inside — work out the answer in your head, then pop the bubble holding it. The ring beside the sign is the countdown: 15 seconds, one slow turn.

A correct pop makes the bubble bloom — petals burst out, confetti falls, and you score 10 points plus one more point for every second left (up to 5). A wrong pop costs nothing: no points, no time. The burst bubble disappears, and the lesson only tells you whether the answer is "a little" or "a lot" bigger or smaller, so you can aim again.

Twelve questions make a round. Consecutive correct pops build a streak. If the ring runs out, that question simply passes — the correct bubble glows for a moment so you can see it, but you score nothing. Three timeouts in a row and the questions quietly step back a level until you find your rhythm again.

Think first, then pop

  1. Stuck on 3 × 7? Split it: 3 × 5 plus 3 × 2, that is 15 plus 6.
  2. See 56 ÷ 8? Ask instead: eight times what makes fifty-six? Division is a multiplication with a piece missing.
  3. There is a bubble reading 27, one reading 21, one reading 24. Estimate between which tens the answer sits, then choose.

Multiplication splits: 3 × 7 = 3 × 5 + 3 × 2 = 15 + 6 = 21. Division turns around: 56 ÷ 8 asks "8 times what is 56?", and the table says 7. A rough estimate rules out half the bubbles before you even reach for the answer.

Why a miss costs no time

Timed arithmetic tempts children into guessing fast and checking never. This lesson separates speed from accuracy on purpose: a wrong pop only removes one bubble, the clock keeps running but your score is untouched. Points come from being right, and the bonus comes from the seconds you did not need.

So the best strategy is not to tap quickly — it is to work it out, then pop once. Streaks reward that, and the star rating is decided mostly by how many questions you got right on the very first pop.

FAQ

Does a wrong pop cost points? No. No points and no time are lost; the burst bubble disappears and the rest stay put, so you can keep aiming. Only the countdown ends a question.

What happens on a timeout? The question scores nothing, the correct bubble glows briefly, and the next one starts. Three timeouts in a row step the questions down a level.

When do the type and difficulty settings apply? They apply from the next round. The level never jumps mid-round.
