Quit Smoking Tracker: Turn the Hard Days Into Numbers

Failing to quit usually isn't a willpower problem — it's having nothing to hold onto after dinner on day 3. This page does one thing: it puts your smoke-free days, money saved, and recovery progress in front of you, so when you're about to cave you have a concrete number to look at.

Why counting days works

Withdrawal follows a curve, not a flat line. Nicotine is essentially cleared within 48 to 72 hours, and withdrawal peaks right there — irritability, restlessness, cigarettes on your mind nonstop. After that it drops day by day, and most people feel noticeably better by week two.

The hard part is the peak. White-knuckling it means fighting your own dopamine system, and those aren't great odds.

Trading attention for numbers is the better play. Watching your streak climb and your money saved grow gives your brain an immediate, visible reward — exactly what the cigarette used to provide. That's all this page does. No pep talks, just numbers.

Common questions

Which day of quitting is the hardest?

For most people it's around day 3: nicotine is essentially cleared, withdrawal peaks, and irritability and brain fog hit hardest. The second wall is around day 7, usually at drinks or dinners out. Get past both and the slope flattens.

Is the money saved figure accurate?

It's your daily cigarette spend multiplied by calendar days — a conservative estimate, if anything. It doesn't count lighters, breath mints, or the ten minutes you used to spend freezing on the balcony in winter.

What if I slip and smoke one?

Hit Reset and set your start date to today. Don't fudge the numbers — a fake streak means nothing. Just start over.

Is my data uploaded?

No. Everything stays in your browser's local storage. No uploads, no login. It won't follow you to a new phone, and clearing browser data wipes it — screenshot your milestones.
